She is a founding physician of Vein Specialists of Pittsburgh and Interventional Solutions Inc. Her interest in image guided percutaneous procedures evolved during ACGME accredited residency training at LSUHSC in New Orleans which provided ample opportunity for participation in minimally invasive imaging guided percutaneous interventions. Accomplishing excellent outcomes with minimum downtime, frequently without overnight stay at the hospital appealed to her.
It was a driving force to pursue ACGME accredited fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston affiliated with Harvard Medical School. It was a thriving interdisciplinary environment which allowed her to hone her clinical skills and advance technical proficiency in minimally invasive percutaneous surgical procedures. In the state with most rigorous credentialing criteria for thermal ablation in venous disease she expanded her interest in lasers to clinical practice. Dr. Valerie Drnovsek is a member of American College of Phlebology, American Academy for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery and Senior Member of ASNR.
After years of hospital based private practice experience Dr. Drnovsek embarked on a new chapter by founding Vein Specialists of Pittsburgh with office in Oakmont, PA. Unlike in the acute care hospital based setting where patients with venous disease take a back seat to acutely ill and emergent, often life threatening cases, her goal is to offer her services to the patients away from the hustle and bustle of the hospital. Thus she created an environment conducive to delivery of expert care in a relaxed atmosphere.
Her patient testimonials speak volumes for the positive difference she made in their lives.
